As there have emerged several sources from directly inside of Mariupol we are publishing them as they become available. This is not live blog attempt but we want to publish in one place all those status updates that take place inside the city. The situation changes by minute and it has gone from unbearably to humanly intolerable.

– At the moment the process of evacuation of the defenders of Mariupol is ongoing.

– No update on the progress and how negations are going.

 

This is important to emphasize as there are such media outlets like Estonian National Broadcast Eesti Rahvusringhääling or ERR which on May 18 published “The Mariupol has fallen, the faith of the defenders remain uncertain” and on May 19 “Russian army continues to kill civilians, surrendered Azovstal combatants are put into the prison.” This is beyond anything as an Estonian I and the SA VALDEF team can tolerate. We actually want to scream at the ERR and the management because we can’t understand why Estonian National Broadcast has developed into Soviet mentality where the news produced in Moscow is considered the only news to be broadcast.

We want to emphasize again what the current situation is:

– There’s ongoing process of exchanging Russian PoW to the defenders of Mariupol in Azovstal.

– On May 12 Irina Vereshyuk said the negotiation is only around 38 heavily wounded defenders of Maeiupol.

– On May 18 early hours the process began and in total the negotiation led to 53 heavily wounded would be stabilized in a medical facility and 211 lightly wounded would go to await the exchange procedure.

– The sides don’t reveal the details and such wannabes like Kira Rudik have to be dismissed as she literally compensates her shortcoming with the lives of the defenders of Mariupol.

– The negotiation is personally led by the president of Ukraine, the commanders of the defenders of Mariupol in Azovstal, and the initiator of the negotiations were Ukraine army, SBU and GUR.

– President of Ukraine Zelensky made clear the aim of the process is to bring every defender of Mariupol back alive. Thus, the very senior people negotiating the process.

– There are news and emotional outburst the defenders have been put to prison or the defenders are brought to Russian occupied territories. Even the Russian state TV broadcast the artificial content how the busses with the defenders are brought under heavy escort of a KA-52A to some facility.

– Unless stated otherwise anything shown by the Russian stat TV or the Russian stingers MUST BE DISMISSED AS UNREALIABE and INTENDED DISINFO.

– Because the Ukraine side manage to increase the number of the defenders of Mariupol in Azovstal for exchange indication show the Russia is making ways to Ukraine demands

– We can’t say where and how the Ukraine wounded defenders are kept but it has been clearly stated the heavily wounded will go to hospital for stabilization. Yes, the hospital is manned by the Russian army.

– The need is to have less emotionally evoking tweet or ignore any emotionally evoking tweets by the Ukrainians.

– Any tweet or elaboration by the Russians MUST BE IGNORED as they don’t serve the information purpose.”

– The lives of the evacuated persons will be guaranteed.

– The process is led by Ukraine army and Intelligence (SBU / GUR).

– The negotiation process and the circumstances are very fragile and unpredictable and information sanity has to be maintained.

– The people of Ukraine need them alive and this hast to be clear to every sane person. This also means there will not be any surrender but a controlled process to evacuate all the defenders of Mariupol.

– The process invokes the UN and the International Red Cross. Whatever the problem was with the first evacuation of civilians from Azovstal with the mandatory visit to the FSB filtration camp is now either under control or the actual parties who make the calls made clear the lives of the men will be guaranteed.

– This is a very long process. There are over 700 wounded. The process can’t be quick.

– The exact number of the defenders of Mariupol is unknow. They have clearly stated, also their relatives have clearly stated – they will not surrender and the word surrender is not what should ever be used.

– This extraction is the way to go as these men need recovering from the inhuman ordeal, they have gone through that the war counsel  sychologists have noted will take years, even decades to overcome. Many won’t recover ever.”

The information about Azovstal will lead to death of many people. Thus, we urge people not to spread their assumptions but make sure you can understand.

Even we refuse to update the information when it arrives as we admit we lack the context of development and we try to avoid death among the defenders because some bit of information will be used against them.

FSB has killed all Regiment “Azov” combatants who they have detained. All but one.

Why can’t people in safety get emotionally involved to the point they avert genocide to happen rather than shedding a tear in the future commemorating the victims when in fact these commemorators don’t care, don’t think what it meant, don’t know what it means to go through genocide even when their own history is full of those experiences. People in general are too accustomed to not to get involved into anything, to not take responsibility, not to lead anything, and now the defenders of Mariupol pay the price, Mariupol residents are ethnically cleansed, and a half-a-million residents city disappeared like it never existed despite the fact it is bigger than any current European city. May 6, 2022 is 73rd day when they are defending Mariupol and Russian army can’t take it. “The news of losing connection with the defenders of Mariupol has been confirmed by other sources. The addressing by the deputy commander of Regiment “Azov” Svytoslav Palamar shows the defenders have access to the internet and they are able to communicate but the situation has deteriorated. Also, this does not mean do they have radio comms with the Ukraine army General Staff.

The fact Svytoslav Palamar made an addressing means the situation needs to be resolved and not by the means and mediators who are involved at the moment – the UN and the ICRC.

The addressing is clear, even despite the acknowledgment by the deputy commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade Sergei Volyna he has been in direct and personal connection with the president of Ukraine Volodimyr Zelensky, the president as the Chief-in-Command has to personally get involved to evacuated the wounded, who are dying in great pain by 1-2 men a day, and make everything in his power to involve a 3rd party who evacuates them by using the international right of extraction.

The wording and the urgency of the message has drastically increased and indicating clearly the UN and ICRC don’t do everything in their power to evacuate the civilians.

There’s a clear issue of the two humanitarian organizations working for and enabling Russia’s waged Mariupol genocide by forcing with their authority all genocide survivors to go into the FSB filtration camps where the evidence of Russia’s genocide is erased, person’s biometric data collected which violates the basic international human rights, and those who don’t pass the filtration are forcefully deported to Russia. When and how the assistance to the Russian ethnic cleansing efforts has been agreed upon is the open question that has to be investigated.

What the Mariupol defenders have stated they would like to see Turkey to be the 3rd party who extracts them, wounded, and the civilians in Azovstal from Mariupol by the sea into Turkey.

The fact is there’s no clear miscommunication between the Mariupol defenders, the General Staff, but especially by the Presidential office in the Oleksiy Arestovich person. In last 48 hours as of May 3rd 15:00 the Russian army started a massive land operation supported by artillery and other means of heavy fire attack on Azovstal. What the information indicated the UN and ICRC humanitarian operation allowed the Russian army to come so close they break through and got into the Azovstal territory.

There was indication the communication has been lost with the defenders and basically last 2 days people lived in their own perception what takes place.

There’s news an electrician gave the instruction how to enter the tunnels in Azovstal 3 km from the defenders of Mariupol hideout. The source of the information is Anton Gerashenko. He has a very bad track record in providing truthful information to the point he’s unreliable, the reporting by him overlaps with the previous report of tunnel combats.

The truth is the dynamics of the situation has changed after UN and ICRC intervention and not in the favour of the Mariupol defenders. The situation was critical long before it and it deteriorates even further. By the very physics of the war none of the defenders should be alive. Yet they are, they resist, and the resistance have gone into the annals of history how long most fighting capable units among Ukraine army are capable to withstand a mechanized tactical Russian army group in the size of 14000 strong who are supported with bombers, strategic bombers, naval battle ship and heavy artillery. Between Mariupol and the nearest Ukraine army is 150 km of heavily fortified and occupied territory by the Russian army.

The situation is critical. The attack on Azovstal has been repelled. The Russian army broke through in one direction. unknown have they managed to push them back There’s no perspectives of any miracle for the Mariupol defenders. The whole faith is uncertain.

What you have to bear in mind that when you in desperate mood and don’t know where to hide try to think what the Russian army combatants are feeling. The feeling of frustration and rage they have is 100-fold greater because they can’t manage anything. This is the only solace that helps to carry on, witness the other day with the news regardless what they will be.

The defence of Mariupol is the moral litmus test of the war. Ukraine can’t lose the moral battle of Mariupol because it will determine everything this war was.”

“The medics from Azovstal ask everyone to give their share in spreading the pictures and awareness of the condition of the wounder. They call it critical but in the reality these are lethal. There are over 500 wounded.

The defenders of Mariupol had air bridge set up with the General Staff that managed to bring in the supplies and lift away the wounded but it was compromised and the helicopter was shot down with MANPADS. All 30 wounded on board got instantly killed plus the crew. The situation is desperate and the situation is dangerous because Russia has started to eradicate such evidence of committed atrocities as removal of the 800 dead people in the Mariupol Drama theatre.

The only force that is able to preserve the evidence of committed atrocities and give a chance to bring to the world’s public eye are the defenders of Mariupol. If they survive, if they are able to hold off the city to the point Ukraine armed forces are able to deblockade then there will chance to start investigate the committed atrocities.

To make that happen is to increase the political, social, and armed forces pressure of the world on Russia and its leaders, thus spreading these pictures you can show what actually means defending Mariupol but specially to get wounded – in essence it’s a death sentence.

“I am commander of Azov regiment, Denis Prokopenko. I call to the leaders of the world. Right now, in Mariupol, at “Azovstal” steel factory hundreds of civilians are sheltering. Among them – people of all ages, women, children, families of Mariupol defenders. They are sheltering in the basements and bunkers from “russian world”.

They found their only available shelter next to the Ukrainian soldiers, who are still defending the city from russian invaders. Russian forces, and their proxy from “lnr/dnr” know that, they know about civilians, and they keep their fire on the factory willingly. They use free fall bombs, rockets, bunker-buster bombs, all varieties of artillery, both ground and naval for indiscriminate attacks. City theater, maternity hospital, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, houses were destroyed by those who now offers civilians evacuation and safety. These are the same people. And nobody believes these bastards. Therefore, I urge the politicians of all civilized world to organize a proper “green corridor”, ensure its safety and provide immediate evacuation and protection of civilians, wounded soldiers, and bodies of dead soldiers, to bury them with honours.”

At the moment on the territory of Azovstal are around 1000 civilians who came to safety from the Russian army bombardment. Regiment “Azov” can’t defend them, because the katsaps (derogative name for Russians) warned them in advance they will bomb them with FAB-1000 and FAB-3000 aerial bombs (1-ton and -3ton aviation bombs which can be dropped only from strategic bombers).

The free civilians don’t want to leave because all their houses are destroyed and they have nowhere to go. The need is urgently on the max spread this information to solve the question of green corridors or in other forms.

Once again: I was approached by Mikhail Vershinin with the request to help to spread the message to the max. The sooner the better. Don’t let down.”
